Tax Agency pauses relocation of 500 – Sydsvenskan

Hansson says he is not curled for any political pressure.

– This is entirely my own decision, says Hansson said.

The Tax Agency plan was to move about 500 services from nine locations to a little larger, regional centers where the agency also has offices. However, not to big cities. The idea was that it would make operations more efficient when the offices grew to 100-200 people.

The nine localities concerned which would have been deprived of jobs are Lycksele, Hudiksvall, Ludvika, Enkoping, Mariestad, Vetlanda Värnamo, Ängelholm and Simrishamn. Negotiations with the unions was already begun.

The government has said that the State Treasury will win the contract, but directives are not clear. It shall be within weeks, according to the State Council in charge of the State Administration, Civil Affairs Ardalan Shekarabi (S).

– I note Tax Board’s decision and our work in progress after all, says Shekarabi and relates to the preparation for the inquiry .

The report will be presented to the government next spring, according Shekarabi and consists of several parts. The State Treasury shall, among other things, identify where state jobs available and propose principles for a balance between efficiency and that the state has presence across the country.

– The government will take its responsibility to keep the country together, says Ardalan Shekarabi .

He says he nor the government has no part in the Tax pause their plans.

– This is a decision Tax Board has announced.

The Government governing principle, he points out, and stay out of it was the authorities should put their offices, unless in the case of newly formed authorities.
