Tågstrul waiting thousands of Easter – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

the Stockholm-Gothenburg-speed trains will take up to three hours longer, reports the Echo.

The planned track work, which begins on Holy Thursday and hold on to a different extent to Easter Monday, will affect at least 35 000 passengers. The Stockholm-Malmö will, for example, go through Södertälje.

– You can see the benefits of this. We will have a facility that takes better care of the traffic needed in Stockholm. We know that in the long run, there is a strong need to increase the traffic. All these actions we are doing now is of course to to secure it to work well today and that we will be able to receive the expected increases in the future too, says Jonas Westlund at the Swedish Transport Administration.

To the north of Stockholm, some night trains will be canceled.
