Jimmie Åkesson’s letter to the members after Skavlan – Aftonbladet

Immediately after his appearance in Skavlan wrote Jimmie Åkesson a letter to members of the party.

There, he explains that he comes back as party leader on Wednesday – but only internally.

Mattias Karlsson and Richard Jomshof will continue to represent the party outwards and lead the political work.

On Wednesday Sweden Democrats party leader Jimmie Åkesson back after six months of sick leave for burnout.

In Skavlan in BBC1 on Friday evening, he told me about his illness and how he is after his final debate between party leaders last fall felt he could not manage more.

He fled home – and do not come back.

Until now.

It’s the first time he participates in public since he fell ill was written in October.

Right after the program he put a letter to party members on their Facebook page, a letter which was also awarded the Sweden Democrats’ side.

In the letter he tells about his illness, but also writes that it is now time for him to start working again.

But not fully.

The letter reserves himself and hopes of understanding that he is in peace and at their own pace want to return in the work.

“It will not work to jump straight into the action overnight. Then there is an imminent risk of a substantial setback. My return must be gradual. “Writes Jimmie Åkesson.

He will lead the party from within – but not visible to the outside.

Mattias Karlsson, who has stood in as party leader during his sick leave, will continue to be the party’s public face, along with party secretary Richard Jomshof.

“I will propose to the Executive Committee of the party group leader in parliament, Mattias Karlsson, along with party secretary Richard Jomshof one more time remains in my place to represent the party outward and lead the political process. “Writes Jimmie Åkesson.

He also says that he in the spring will visit the major party districts to become acquainted with new and old members.
