School offensive to solve integration – Aftonbladet

The government goes on a school’s offensive – to get to a better integration.

It promises, among other things, that more teachers with a foreign background to get jobs and that children will to Sweden quickly end up in the right class and get extra support in their home language.

– If done right here the whole Sweden to serve on the said secondary and education initiative Minister c (S).

During the spring, the integration proposals was arriving from the Alliance parties. This week was the government’s turn to tell how they want to deal with the problems they see. It did so through a “service packages” that promised investments in jobs, schools, municipalities refugees and civil society’s role.

Labour Minister Ylva Johansson (S) has announced that the government would begin talks with the social partners to produce ” fast track “so that newcomers can quickly get a job.

” More equal schools “

Aftonbladet says now Education Minister Gustav Fridolin (MP) and secondary and education initiative Minister Aida Hadzialic (S) on the first training efforts reached in time to improve both the school and integration. A new arrival coming to Sweden, within two months after the person had contact with the school system have received their previous knowledge mapped. In addition, the person shall have been placed in the grade that fits.



Should evaluated

– We know that in municipalities which manages to give newcomers the chance that the person who has grown up in Sweden works well with mapping. But it looks very different in different municipalities. This is why we need a law this year that looks the same across the country, says Gustav Fridolin.

The government also aims to teachers who come to Sweden to get jobs before they are able to teach the subjects they are trained. The idea is that they will work as tutors or language teacher to in turn make it easier for newcomer students can get remedial instruction before they fully learned to master the Swedish language.

– There is the issue of validation of their education is very important . There are many people in Sweden with a lot of skills and experience we need. We can take advantage of the school, just as in other areas. Trained teachers like talking Arabic is a great asset, says Fridolin.

An evaluation of the Swedish validation system of newcomers’ skills will be presented on April 1st.

More teachers with a foreign background

The goal is to those with a teaching background to work before they can work as teachers in the subjects they are trained. It can happen to work as tutors and language teachers to help newly arrived pupils. On April 1 presents a validation report with proposals on how the validation of knowledge from homelands to become nationally cohesive.

Study on native language

Newly arrived students to get tutoring in their native language so that they can continue to develop in other subjects while they learn Swedish. The government promises budget investments in this area.

Increase of new arrivals school results

The government has tabled a bill to Riksdag. The goal is a law that guarantees a personalized and equitable education across the country. Within two months after a person has come to Sweden, the new arrival’s knowledge to be mapped and the person being placed in an appropriate class.

Personalised SFI

The SFI studies to be combined with other courses in adult education. SFI will be offered more in the evenings so that it can be combined with a job or internship.

Skills development for principals and teachers

The government plans to strengthen the mission of the National Agency. The goal is to increase knowledge of principals and teachers of language and knowledge for new arrivals.

Support for schools with tough conditions

The government will provide the National Agency to conclude contracts with low school performance to support knowledge development.

Remote Teaching of native language

The Government is proposing a bill to remote teaching of mother tongue education should be facilitated.
