Power back in Svedala – Sydsvenskan

Power back in Svedala – Sydsvenskan

It was about 7 o’clock on Saturday morning as a fire caused power outages for 6,000 electricity customers in Svedala Holmeja, Sjödiken, Alstad, Vellinge Månstorp and VÅRBY. The blackout also forced many stores to close.

– We ran into an arc in the switchyard that caused the fire in the substation, said Torbjörn Larsson, press officer for the Eon.

In the afternoon could Eons staff establish that the damage was extensive, but that parts of the switchgear turned out to be less damaged and could be repaired so that half of all sufferers could get the power back 17 o’clock.

– There are many more bright spots than when we drove in, then it felt like a ghost town, but now it feels a little more that usual, says Sydsvenskans reporter Jan Samuelsson at 18:30 o’clock.

A new mobile substation was commissioned from Norrköping.

The street lights came back into central Svedala late on Saturday afternoon. It is estimated that every household should be able to get the power back on Sunday.

Eon has set up an information service in the foyer of the town hall in Svedala. There will be staff on site until 20 pm on Saturday, to open the back again tomorrow at 8th

– We have a great understanding of our customers and the public affected by the outage during the weekend . We are sorry for it and we do everything we can to restore electricity, says Anders Klemedsson, Operations Manager E.ON electricity network in a press release.

More and more could the evening get power back and at 19.30 there were only 519 energized households, all of them located in central Svedala. Rail traffic, which had also been affected by the power outage, had then been able to return to normal operation after a half hour. Until then, the trains could not be run at full speed, causing delays and canceled trains.

– It is pure magic trick that they have been able to restore power to so many at this time, given how situation looked like this morning, says Torbjörn Larsson Sydsvenskan.

The planned Cultural Night in Svedala were conducted in slightly truncated form. People’s Hall and the library has business running until 22 o’clock Library staff and visitors made use of all kinds of flashlights, smart phones, lanterns and oil lamps. The operations at the fire station was saved in part by a reservaggreggat so that the promised care of the dance could be. In contrast, pubkvällen set.
