Ahlin is a good choice – UNT

Ahlin is a good choice – UNT

This happened as the Social Democrats nominated Urban Ahlin as the new speaker of parliament. Urban Ahlin has been the party’s foreign policy chief for several years and brought respect also within other parties. Unless Wallström had chosen to return to politics as had Ahlin been given as foreign minister when his party now again allowed to form government.

To make Ahlin for President can thus solve one of the appointment problems every prime minister has to deal . His network of contacts and extensive experience makes him naturally suited to be parliamentary – and by the head of state also Sweden – the main representatives. This eliminates Löfven choose between the other two persons named as candidates for the President post, Susanne Eberstein and von Sydow.

There is enough no bold idea to also Moderates election of Mr Billström as First Vice President can resolve a potential problem for the party. Bill Power’s Migration on several occasions tried to pull policy in a direction that neither the Prime Minister or other alliance parties appreciated. He has corrected back into line, but no one knows how he would act as a moderate member of parliament but the government. As First Vice President, he will have to devote much of his time to other duties than the Moderate Party’s immigration policy.

The Green Party Third Vice President Esabelle Dingizian was never controversial. However, both the Centre Party, Liberal Party and the Christian Democrats have reason to consider that they all made bad choices so that they could be eligible to nominate one of the Vice-Presidents.

Instead it is therefore now a Sverigedemokrat, Björn Söder, who occupies the post of Second Vice President. It was a formally correct choice, and consistent with the practice of lot size will determine who gets President of entries used since a long time. How strong uneasiness before the Sweden Democrats’ opinions and behavior than are in other parties, they have received a large number of votes and can not be thought away from parliamentary work.

But, while other presidents were elected completely under routine required three ballots for to get the South elected. Apart from a few stray votes he received only support from his own party and according to parliamentary rules require a majority to be elected. Only in the third voting is enough to get most votes – and no rival candidate for the South was not.

It was also the end of which was foreseeable. The Sweden Democrats have had their Vice President mail properly and the other parties have nevertheless highlighted the necessary political distance. Now the South treated the same as other presidents – and presumed self behave correctly in the part he got.
