That’s an awful lot of water, the river that runs through Getinge is completely flooded , unable to see where the river channel is. I would think that the water extends hundreds of meters beyond its usual flow.

But there is nonetheless no panic, he says – people are out shooting.

The last few days heavy rain in Halland has led major problems with flooding. The Getinge estimates rescue that now prevails disaster mode.

The Home Guard has been called in and will help to build water barriers by using sandbags, reports P4 Halland.

In the morning, staff from emergency services together with Laholms Bay VA ride around in Getinge to awaken people so that they can rescue cars and property away water. Motorists are also warned that several roads are under water.

The floods are mainly due to rainwater to flow away. Inside the Getinge school closed because of the floods. The street where the school is being filled by water. Two substations are also threatened by the flood and emergency services are now working to build blast walls.

That this affects the whole community. We have a serious situation in Getinge where we have received a lot of water, says Magnus Eriksson, chief of staff at the emergency services in Halmstad.

And the situation is not expected to get better next day. According to SMHI can the northern part of Halland get upwards of 35 inches of rain.

Eon have right now about 700 without electricity customers as a result of the floods.

-Såvida nothing unexpected occurs of the type of new heavy rainfall or technical problems, we expect them to have power back before lunch, says Jacob Holmström, press officer at Eon.
